I have a new story in the Fall/Winter issue of the Colorado Review. It was a finalist for the Nelligan Prize for Short Fiction, and I was delighted that they wanted to publish it (when mags say they will consider all entries for publication, sometimes I wonder if they do . . . ). It was heavily inspired by some of the work I’ve been doing in my professional life. “Hounds” is a dark story about disfigured veterans, a dying medical research dog, and sex as a weapon. Just a little light holiday reading.
